Dan Henderson wants to test Jon Jones' chin
by Hubert Lau on December 11, 2011

Dan Henderson wants to test the Jon Jones' chin and is ready for a fight with the UFC light heavyweight champion according to his twitter account.

"Congrats to @jonnybones -- great win. Hey @danawhite, I'd like to see if his chin is as good as he thinks & I'm ready to go," Henderson tweeted.

Jon Jones recently defended his light heavyweight title against Lyoto Machida at UFC 140, choking out the karate specialist in the second round via guillotine choke. Henderson is coming off of a big win himself, a unanimous decision against Mauricio Rua in their five round war at UFC 139.

A fight pitting Henderson equipped with his infamous "H-Bomb" against Jones' unorthodox stance is sure to be an exciting affair. But such a matchup might not be in the making just yet.

"I would like to take up to four months of, maybe even five...Yeah, fighting maybe three times in 2012 would be nice, but you know a break sounds nice, too. So, it's really up to the UFC, one of my goals is to be a company guy, so if the UFC asks me to do something, I probably won't put up much of a fight. So it's really up to Dana," Jones said at UFC 140's post fight press conference.

A fight between Jones and Henderson is a definite possibility in the future but it would be surprising to see Henderson as his next matchup. Currently Rashad Evans and Phil Davis are fighting at UFC on Fox 2 in January 28, 2012 with the winner receiving a title shot against Jones.

Giada Esposito: Sweet. I so hope Hendo gets the next title shot instead of the winner of Evans vs. Davis (although I would like to see Jones's elbows in Evans's face). I think it would be a great fight. JujitsWho: This Rashad/Davis fight for a title shot is nonesense. Who would choose him over a Evans/Hendo match for the #1 contender spot?! I know Davis is a talented kid and has a bright future, but his biggest win is over Lil Nog who was nowhere near title contention at the time and fresh off a loss to Bader. Where Hendo is a proven beast. Rashad vs. Hendo for the next shot a Jones makes the most sense. If you didnt have Hendo sitting there, then sure, throw Davis a bone. But Hendo is there and has done WAY more to deserve a shot than just beating Lil Nog and being young. Davis needs more time, so give Hendo the nod That is freakin ALL. Hizoka: that got me banned on the mmaplayground the mods there are stuck to fedors nuts worse the GH is stuck to silvas GO HARD: Looks like Jon Jones will be fighting Henderson and then Evans vs Davis winner. good deal. Lady Dragon 420: Whoever JJ fights he will win thats what i think dude is just too good. Giada Esposito: Jones can certainly be beaten, just like GSP or Anderson, but the balance of power rests in his corner. Everyone is beatable, but it doesn't mean Jones losing is likely. Hendo will make a good opponent for him, and I wouldn't count him out, but I'm not making the mistake of betting against Jones again anytime soon. That being said, I'm very excited for this fight. :) MAStudent: Was looking at Jones recent record. Sheesh. Rua, Rampage, and Machida. Rua and Rampage have earned their stripes and glory for years, and Machida went undefeated to the title. Thats a nice years worth of work. seedheadondatrak: Jones via GnP in the 3rd or 4th. Wandering_Minstrel: I would poop myself if Hendo lands that big right on Jones and we have a new LHW champion. 0311USMC: If Hendo can blast that over hand right off Jones facial area and send him to sleepy time, I think he should be OFFICIALLY re-named the Myth Buster. That would be 2 he has brought back to earth. I am hoping and praying that Hendo can smash Jones just like he did Bisping.
