While a Dan Henderson vs. Nate Marquardt bout is under consideration for UFC 105, the organizers have run into a problem. Henderson does not have a contract with the UFC.
Sports Illustrated's Josh Gross told FiveKnuckles.com that Henderson's camp has confirmed that they have received an offer to fight Marquardt, but they cannot take it.
According to Loretta Hunt of Sherdog.com, the Henderson vs. Marquardt bout is "far from locked as Henderson negotiates new contract with UFC first."
The organization is trying to get Henderson resigned, but the process is slow. It is unclear why the UFC offered Henderson the fight before giving him a new contract.
"That's like putting cart b4 the horse," said Gross via Twitter.
UFC 105 will take place on Nov. 14, allowing Henderson's team and the UFC to negotiate a new contract.
