Like he's done several times before, Dan Miller (13-5) will step in for an injured fighter, as the AMA Fight Club product replaces Alexandre "Cacareco" Ferreira (18-7) against Rousimar Palhares (12-3) at UFC 134 in August.
The change was announced today by the UFC.
"Dan Miller lives up to his motto of 'anyone, anyplace, anytime' by stepping up against Rousimar Palhares at UFC 134 after original opponent Alexandre Ferreira pulled out of the fight," said UFC president Dana White.
There is no word though on the nature or extent of the injury suffered by Ferreira.
Miller is coming off a decision loss to Nate Marquardt at UFC 128 in March. Prior to the loss, he won back-to-back fights against John Salter and Joe Doerksen.
Palhares has gone 4-1 in his last five fights, defeating the likes of Jeremy Horn, Lucio Linhares, Tomasz Drwal and most recently scoring a second round submission win over Dave Branch at March's UFC on Versus 3 card. His lone loss over the four-fight span came in his previous fight, also against Marquardt.
UFC 134 takes place on Aug. 27 at HSBC Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. The event is headlined by a UFC middleweight title bout between Anderson Silva and challenger Yushin Okami.
