If anybody was mad about Anderson Silva's UFC 112 performance, it was President Dana White. White dropped the belt in the fourth round and exited the arena.
At the post-fight press conference, White did not hide his emotions about the fight.
"Believe me, I'll answer the questions of what a disgrace the main event was," he said. "To end it the way that we did was an embarrassment for me, the UFC, the Fertittas and the U.A.E. If you're that talented, be Mike Tyson, go in there and finish."
White also expressed his feelings that Frankie Edgar's win over B.J. Penn would be overshadowed by the middleweight title fight.
Even though Silva is largely considered to be the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world, this is not the first title defense where fans have questioned him. UFC 90 saw Patrick Cote bow out in the third round with a knee injury, and at UFC 97, Thales Leites took Silva to the judges' scorecards. After both fights, the fans and the media took shots at Silva's fighting. So which one did White think was the worst?
"This one took the cake," he said. "I'm blown away, disgusted and saddened. I don't want to see GSP vs. Silva after tonight. Silva might be the first champion fighting on a prelim card. I don't want to see that shit."
White then vowed that he wold make it up to the fans, saying that while he did not currently know how, he would find a way.
