Dana White was right. The UFC is getting more mainstream. This year's AskMen.com's Most Influential list included two big names in MMA: White, himself, and Georges St. Pierre.
While White made the list last year, he got four spots closer to #1, and came in at #10. AskMen.com gave the following comments as some of the reasons why they chose White:
"You may not like Dana White's smack-talking persona, but there's no denying his influence. Since being appointed the president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship in 2001, this street-savy marketing genius has transformed mixed martial arts from a seedy underground sport into a mainstream phenomenon."
Georges St. Pierre (18-2) made his debut on the list at #36. Here are some words from AskMen.com about the welterweight champion.
"Few other fighters possess his extraordinary combination of athleticisim and agility, and his strength is nearly off the charts, leading many pundits to anoint him MMA's top pound-for-pound performer and the future of MMA."
