Dana White disappointed with TUF; promises better shows to come
by Gavin Vincent on October 07, 2009

"Before this season started, I went out and told everybody this is a great season. I said that it was great before it aired and I told everybody this wasn't promoter bullshit. It's a really good season. Lots of cool shit happens. It's a great season. I was disappointed in the first three fights. The first three fights that happened on the show, I wasn't crazy about. It gets better from here on out. The fights pick up after this." -Dana White

UFC President Dana White shares his disappointment with lackluster performances in the first three episodes of this season's "The Ultimate Fighter 10".

Episode 1 featured the bloodiest fight in TUF history, however, the fight itself was less than thrilling. Abe Wagner survived two rounds, which saw John Madsen the victor by unanimous decision.

Episode 2 featured kickboxing veteran and coach Rashad Evans' first pick James McSweeney vs. former NFL veteran Wes Shivers. Both men gassed in the middle of the first round and neither was able to pick up steam for the duration of the contest with McSweeney pulling out a less than impressive win.

Episode 3 claimed the most ratings in TUF history as 5.3 million viewers tuned in to watch Kimbo Slice's much-anticipated fight against former IFL champion Roy Nelson. Slice survived a first round crucifix only to find himself in the same position in the next round as Nelson repeatedly hit him with relatively weak potshots eventually forcing a referee  stoppage. In the show's show's closing comments, White criticized the victory and questioned Nelson's performance.

Not impressed by a bloody fight or record-breaking television, White promises TUF 10 picks up and says that "cool shit" is on the way. You can catch TUF 10 every Wednesday night on SpikeTV at 10 p.m. EST.
