UFC President Dana White commented on Diego Sanchez's health after losing to the reigning lightweight champion B.J. Penn. Doctors called an end to the bout at 2:37 in the fifth round as Sanchez's forehead was split wide open from a head kick.

White spoke briefly with Sanchez inside the Octagon before he was taken to the hospital, but was unsure of his current health status. On the surface, Sanchez suffered a split lip, bruised face and Abe Wagner-esk gash on his forehead.
