UFC President Dana White said that it will still be another six weeks before he will make a decision regarding the heavyweight title picture.
"We won't know for probably another month and a half," said White. "Lesnar had that minor surgery. He's going to change his diet, do some things, and see what happens."
However, while White is still giving it time, he is not 100 percent sure that the heavyweight champion will ever re-enter the Octagon.
"We still have to wait here a little bit and see what's going to happen to him," said White. "Maybe he can come back. Maybe he can't. I don't know. We've got to see what happens to him first."
White continued to say that Lesnar may or may not have to have major surgery, and is waiting to hear news on that before he makes any decision.
The heavyweight title picture is currently a mess. With former champion Frank Mir calling for Lesnar to be stripped of the belt in a year, and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Cain Velasquez set to possibly fight for the interim belt, there is no clear cut favorite for the title. With Mir's UFC 107 win over Cheick Kongo, he has propelled himself back into the mix. Also, Junior dos Santos is waiting his turn as well.
Shane Carwin is also still waiting for his fight against Lesnar. The two were originally supposed to fight at UFC 106, but were instead replaced by Forrest Griffin and Tito Ortiz. That was around the time when Lesnar became ill. From there, his medical issues got worse, but he has since had surgery and seen many doctors.
White, who has a close friendship with Lesnar, said the the champion talks about coming back to fight.
"He's going to come back," said White. "And he's confident and positive. He's in a much better place than he was when he was in the hospital."
