by Jacob Camargo on July 01, 2009

A featherweight bout between Mark Hominick and Deividas Taurosevicius is slated to take place on the preliminary portion of the near complete Affliction: "Trilogy" fight card. News of the bout comes via MMAtraining.com.

IFL veteran Taurosevicius is coming off a long layoff, not having fought since losing to Ryan Schultz at an IFL event last May. Prior to the loss, Taurosevicius put together a six-fight win streak, gaining notable wins over the likes of Savant Young, Dan Lauzon and Bart Palaszewski. He currently holds a solid 10-3 MMA record, with 8 of his wins coming by way of submission.

Hominick (16-8) is 3-1 in his past four fights, with his most recent win coming against Savant Young at Affliction's first event last July. The seven-year veteran has fought for the UFC, WEC and TKO promotions. Thirteen of Hominick's sixteen career wins have come via stoppage and he holds notable wins over fellow UFC veterans Jorge Gurgel and Yves Edwards.

Affliction: "Trilogy" will take place on August 1 from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The event will feature a WAMMA heavyweight championship match up between current WAMMA champ Fedor Emelianenko and former UFC heavyweight champion Josh Barnett. In the co-main event, former DREAM middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi will make his U.S. debut against Strikeforce light-heavyweight champion Renato "Babalu" Sobral.
