Surging middleweight Mark Munoz (10-2) has agreed to meet Jiu-Jitsu ace Demian Maia (14-2) at UFC 131, according to MMAJunkie.com.
The two will most likely meet on the main card, which will be aired live on pay-per-view.
Munoz is coming off of an impressive TKO victory of C.B. Dollaway at UFC on Versus 3. It was the former Oklahoma State wrestlers second win in a row. A victory over Maia would propel Munoz back to the top of the division, a spot he had reached until losing to Yushin Okami via split decision in August of 2010.
Maia will enter the Octagon for the first time since December, when he posted an impressive decision victory over Kendall Grove. Maia, a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, stifled Grove for the entire three round affair, although he failed to ever lock in a submission. It was his second victory in a row after his loss to Anderson Silva at UFC 112.
UFC 131 will take place on June 11th and features heavyweight Brock Lesnar and Junior dos Santos vying to challenge Cain Velasquez for the heavyweight title.
