Denis Kang believes fighting Michael Bisping will be easier than training at ATT
by Natalia Baage on November 11, 2009

"Not a lot of UFC fans know about me but I think I can come in flying under the radar and take everybody by surprise. I think that I am the underdog in this fight but I see it as a little bit of an advantage. It's been two years since I've been back to American Top Team and they've got some incredible sparring and technical training here. The mind set I need to bring to this fight is the same state of mind I had when I had momentum going with several wins under my belt. I don't want to spar with anybody easy -- anybody that's going to give me just a little. I want to take everything in the training so that I get used to that level. Used to having to fight and work. I've got so many high level guys to work with -- ya know I have guys that in my opinion are tougher than Bisping, more technical, bigger, stronger... so when that night comes and I'm fighting Bisping, it's going to be a lot easier than my training. He's going to have more pressure on him and I'm just coming in very relaxed and not that many expectations on me. Is his chin going to be rested enough? I'm going to be testing it. I've got a pretty good right hand too. He has to win this fight and he has to win in front of his fans. He's got to carry the whole country on his shoulders. I hope that he takes me lightly because he will be in for a big surprise. I'm coming. I'm there. I don't care if he is cocky. He's just another opponent that's nameless, faceless and just a human being that's across the Octagon that I need to beat. This is like a free fight for me. I'll be as loose as a goose." - Denis Kang

In just his third fight with the UFC, Denis Kang will take on the U.K.'s Michael Bisping in their UFC 105 clash this Saturday on Nov. 14 from Manchester, England.

Kang (32-11-1, 2 NC) may not be very well known to UFC fans, but the veteran of the sport has fought with other promotions throughout his 11-year career, such as PRIDE, DREAM, K-1 and Spirit MC.  Kang currently holds a 1-1 record with the UFC, losing to Alan Belcher at UFC 93 in January, before picking up a win against Xavier Foupa-Pokam at UFC 97 in April.

Bisping (17-2) is coming off of a UFC 100 knockout loss to Dan Henderson at UFC 100 in July.  Bisping and Henderson served as opposing coaches during the ninth season of The Ultimate Fighter.  With his devastating loss to the American, Bisping is looking to make a good showing against Kang at UFC 105.
