Dennis Siver plans to drop to featherweight
by Hubert Lau on January 02, 2012

UFC lightweight, Dennis Siver, is looking to move to the featherweight division according to mmafighting.com.

Siver's last bout was a rear naked choke defeat to Donald Cerrone at UFC 137, which also put an end to a four fight win streak.

Siver first debuted with the UFC at UFC 70 and in the following four fights with the promotion went 1-3. However Siver found new life when he was resigned on UFC 93, going 7-2 in his following fights. Siver was even considered as a potential contender at 155lb before his loss to Cerrone.

Siver would join many other lightweights, Charles Oliveira, Tyson Griffin, Kenny Florian, etc., that have made the transition to the lower weight class. Siver holds victories over Matt Wiman, George Sotiropoulos, Spencer Fisher and a highlight reel spinning back kick TKO over Paul Kelly.

No word on who Siver would fight in his featherweight debut.

 |  (15) Comments Masternate: damn this dude bout to be jacked The Hitman: I think this will be a tough cut. MAStudent: How will he make weight, cut off his forearm? He has zero fat. GO HARD: War Siver!!!!!!!!! seedheadondatrak: Interesting match-ups at 145 for him. Siver vs Nunes, Siver vs Manny, Siver vs Sandro (I know he's Bellator, but still lol). Siver vs Aldo?!?! IwishIwasMMA: I find it hard to believe Siver can make 145 with his current body type. He is overly muscular though and would benefit greatly from losing (muscle) weight and looking more lean. Speaking of this, I would like to see Sherk drop down to 145 or maybe even attempt 135. Sherk is a great fighter as it is, so with guys more his size, he would be much better. arlovskiviako: That will be good for him.
