Donald Cerrone has made an extra $215,000 in bonuses from the UFC during his four fights in 2011. He has an excellent chance to add to that total at the final UFC event of the year.
Cerrone (17-3 1 NC) has agreed to meet Nate Diaz (14-7) at UFC 141 in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Dec. 30., according to MMAJunkie.com.
The fight is expected to be broadcast on the pay-per-view portion of the card.
Cerrone, staying true to his word, will get in one more fight in 2011. The former WEC title contender has already gone 4-0 with the UFC in 2011 with victories over Paul Kelly, Vagner Rocha, Charles Oliveira and Dennis Siver. The most recent fight, against Siver, just took place on Saturday at UFC 137. Cerrone won in spectacular fashion, rocking the German kickboxer and eventually sinking in a rear-naked choke.
After a failed stint at welterweight, Diaz will be looking to win his second straight at 155 pounds. The Ultimate Fighter season five victor marked his return to the division with an impressive victory over Takanori Gomi at UFC 135. He finished the Japanese import with an armbar in the very first round.
UFC 141 is headlined by a heavyweight clash between Brock Lesnar and Alistair Overeem.
