Korean judoka, Dong Hyun Kim, is set to fight Sean Pierson in a welterweight scrap booked for UFC 141 according to ufc.com.
"Two talented welterweights on the comeback trail will face off at UFC 141 when Sean Pierson takes on the ‘Stun Gun' Dong Hyun Kim," said UFC President, Dana White.
Kim (14-1-1 (1 no contest)) will look to rebound from his first loss of his career when he steps in to fight Pierson. Kim suffered a knockout at the hands of the current welterweight title challenger, Carlos Condit. Kim has primary fought in Japan's Deep promotion prior to his UFC debut back at UFC 84. Since arriving stateside Kim holds noticeable victories over Matt Brown, Amir Sadollah and Nate Diaz.
Pierson (11-5) fell victim to a Jake Ellenberger counter left, knocking him out, in his last bout at UFC 129. That loss also snapped a six fight winning streak that dated back to October of 2008. Pierson made his UFC debut at UFC 124 against Mathew Riddle, whom he defeated via unanimous decision in a Fight of the Night worthy performance.
UFC 141 is to be held on December 30 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event's headliner will be a heavyweight bout pitting Alistair Overeem against former UFC heavyweight champion, Brock Lesnar. Other announced bouts include Alexander Gustafsson fighting veteran Vladimir Matyushenko. Johny Hendricks to fight Jon Fitch.
