Dustin Hazelett: "A grappler like me... one slip up could be the end of your night."
by Gavin Vincent on December 25, 2009

"Thats one thing I like about fighting and fighting in the UFC, I thrive off of not knowing. I realize that I could beat him. I realize he could beat me. Thats what makes this so much fun for me. I want to fight people that I know have the ability to beat me. Just like I have the ability to beat them. That's why I do what I do. I know quite a bit about Paul Daley. Obviously, very good striker. His weakness is clearly his grappling ability. Classic grappler versus striker. I do have better striking than the average grappler but he has better striking than the average striker. He's no joke. I like to think I can take a lot of punishment, but I'm not going to sit here and tell you I can take every one of his punches. A guy like that, one punch could be the end of your night. In that same respect, with a grappler like me, one slip up could be the end of your night as well. I see no area of this fight being boring. The stylistic match-up of this fight makes it interesting no matter where it's at. You got a really phenomenal striker versus a really good grappler. It's going to be an awesome fight." -Dustin Hazelett

UFC grappling ace Dustin Hazelett addresses his impending showdown with exciting recent UFC debutant Paul Daley.

Hazelett is 12-4 in his professional MMA career and 5-2 inside the Octagon. Hazelett's only two UFC losses came to Josh Koscheck at UFC 82 and Tony DeSouza at Ortiz vs. Shamrock 3 - The Final Chapter. Hazelett's striking is ever-improving, however, the two-time "Submission of the Night" honoree prefers to fight on the ground where he has won 9 of his 12 fights.

Hazelett is scheduled to square off against British striker Paul Daley at UFC 108 and both men expect to force their game on one another.
