Ed "Short Fuse" Herman will look to spoil Clifford Starks' spotless record when they meet at UFC 143 according to ufc.com.
Herman (19-7) was sidelined for nearly two years, late-2009 to mid-2011, due to a knee injury but has since recovered to go on a two fight streak. Tim Credeur was his first opponent in his return at The Ultimate Fighter Finale 13. Herman showed little ring rust when he defeated Credeur in just 48 seconds en route to a first round TKO victory. He followed that up with a heel hook submission win over Kyle Noke in his most recent bout at UFC Live: Hardy vs. Lytle.
Starks (8-0) made a successful UFC debut at UFC 137 against Dustin Jacoby, whom he defeated via unanimous decision. Also noteworthy was Starks' UFC debut was taken on just two weeks' notice as a late replacement for an injured Brad Tavares.
UFC 143 is set for February 4, 2012 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Nick Diaz and Carlos Condit will vie for the UFC's interim welterweight title in the main event.
