"I think if the world wants to see it - cool. But I think Georges St. Pierre would be dumb to take that fight. My opinion is that Anderson Silva is just too big for him. And I think you can make Anderson smaller, yeah, he could cut weight. He could make a catchweight [fight], but what's the catchweight 180 [pounds]?... Me, personally, I think Georges St. Pierre is a phenomenal athlete, but there is only one area that Georges St. Pierre is better then Anderson Silva - and that's wrestling."  - Ed Soares

Ed Soares, Anderson Silva's manager, spoke with MMACanada.net today about the main problem with a "super fight" between Silva and welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre.

However, after St. Pierre's victory at UFC 100 in July, the Canadian fighter told commentator Joe Rogan that he would not accept a fight against Silva due to his size disadvantage against the Brazilian. St. Pierre fights at 170 lbs., and, in the past, has walked around at 185 lbs. Recently, however, he has bulked up, and now walks around at 195 lbs. Silva, on the other hand, fights at 185 lbs. and walks around above 200 lbs. St. Pierre stated that even if he were to put on muscle to fight the middleweight champion, he would still be much smaller.

St. Pierre has had much success in the welterweight division, capturing the title twice, and has defended his title four times, including a unification bout to take him from interim champion to unified champion. He has never fought at any other weight class inside the Octagon.

Silva, on the other hand, though, has been experimenting in the light-heavyweight division. However, he will not fight for the 205-lbs. title since his friend, Lyoto Machida, is the titleholder. Also, UFC President Dana White has stated that Silva will not get a light-heavyweight title shot anyway, unless he has completely cleaned out the middleweight division.
