EliteXC HW Champion Antonio Silva Looks To Defend Title In September

EliteXC heavyweight champion Antonio Silva may be defending his title as soon as this September according to recent comments on the Brazilian website Tatame.com.

“I’m back training because I might come back in September to defend my belt. I spent a week with my family and it was great, but I’m back here at (ATT) now."

Silva also lavished high praise on fellow Brazilian and personal idol Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.

“ Frank Mir is an excellent fighter, he has a good ground game and is good standing up, but not just because I’m a huge Nogueira fan or friend, but nobody in UFC can beat him. Anything can happen in a fight, but I believe nobody can beat him there."
