News of Erik Koch's withdrawal from his scheduled fight against former IFL featherweight champion Wagnney Fabiano at WEC 43 was first reported yesterday and was confirmed today by Koch who informed FiveKnuckles.com that he hurt his elbow during training.

"I hurt my elbow at the beginning of the year and that put me out for a few months," Koch told FiveKnuckles.com. "Last week I re-injured it, tearing ligaments during an intense training session. I hope to rehab and be back to fighting sometime in December."

As previously reported, Machens Semerzier will step in for the injured Koch against Fabiano on Oct. 10.

WEC 43 takes place live at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX and will feature an interim lightweight title fight between Donald Cerrone and Ben Henderson.
