Fabricio Werdum negotiating with the UFC, wants to fight Brendan Schaub
by Hubert Lau on October 25, 2011

Fabricio Werdum is currently in the talks with UFC officials to make his transition back inside the Octagon, looking for a fight with Brendan Schaub in his return according to tatame.com.

"Brendan Schaub, I'm ready for you. Anytime, anywhere," Werdum said through his twitter account.

His willingness to fight Schaub most likely resulted from an interview Schaub conducted with ESPN where he stated his desire to fight Werdum sometime in the future.

Werdum (14-5-1) last saw action at Strikeforce heavyweight grand prix's quarterfinal round, dropping a unanimous decision to Alistair Overeem. He was on a three fight win streak prior to the Overeem loss. His last appearance in the UFC was a TKO loss to the then-debuting Junior dos Santos at UFC 90.

Werdum's coach, Rafael Cordeiro, states that Werdum looks to fight in December. Whether or not this would be with Strikeforce or the UFC remains to be seen.
