Fedor Emelianenko has confirmed his intention to enter the 2009 Russian Combat Sambo Championship as he does every year.
Emelianenko recently lost his first Sambo match in eight years this past November, taking third place at the World Combat Sambo Championships. He'll be looking for a measure of revenge when he attempts to secure his sixth Russian Combat Sambo Championship.
Emelianenko's younger brother Aleksander will also be competing in the same weight category leaving open the possibility that the two could face one another in competition.
The event takes place Feb. 21, from Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.
