Shinya Aoki submitted UFC veteran, Rich Clementi, Masakazu Imanari and Hideo Tokoro also victorious in Dream: Fight for Japan according to mmajunkie.com.
Aoki thoroughly dominated his American opponent from the opening bell by out-grappling and spending the majority of the first round in the mount, raining down punches to Clementi who covered up. The second round was more of the same until Aoki took Clementi's back and submitted him with a neck crank at the 2:32 mark.
Aoki has now won five straight fights, eight of his last nine. His only blemish during this span is his lost to the Strikeforce lightweight champion, Gilbert Melendez, back in mid 2010. Clementi, who took the fight with Aoki on a 10 day notice, is now 7-6 in his last 13 fights since his departure from the UFC.
Japanese bantamweights, Imanari and Tokoro are now slated to meet sometime in the future for the finale of Dream's bantamweight tournament. Imanari defeated Kenji Osawa via Achilles lock and Tokoro was victorious in a split decision over Atsushi Yamamoto.
Caol Uno and Joachim Hansen were also victorious in their bouts at Dream: Fight for Japan, winning via unanimous and split decisions respectively.
Dream: Fight for Japan served to raised money for aid after Japan was ravaged by natural disasters earlier this year. Presently it is unclear how much has been raised or how much will go to charity.
