Forrest Griffin: "I won't quit on myself."
by Gavin Vincent on November 09, 2009

"I don't really know what happened in the Anderson Silva fight. I'm going to go ahead and never watch that (smiles). I know that I'll prepare to the best of my ability and do everything to give myself the best possible chance of winning. I know I won't quit on myself. You talk about the future -- winning fights, getting to fight somebody I've long wanted to fight. That's exciting. That's a good thing for me. I'm excited to fight Tito [Ortiz]. I know he's been working with Freddie Roach and a bunch of good boxing coaches. I don't anticipate him coming out and just looking for a big shot and try to throw me on my head. I mean he'll probably do that too but I think he wants to come out... he's been gone a long time and people forget him... ya know, I think he wants to come out and get to show his hands off a little bit. It was a good fight the first time -- it will be a better fight this time. You don't half-ass it for a guy like Tito." -Forrest Griffin

Original TUF winner Forrest Griffin lost a close split-decision to Tito Ortiz back at UFC 59 and looks to exact revenge on the man who handed him his first UFC loss. Griffin has had his share of ups-and-downs with the UFC but has kept a steady fan base throughout his career. This will be the newlywed's first fight since rushing out of the Octagon after being knocked out by current middleweight champion Anderson Silva at UFC 101.

The published author is currently 7-4 with the UFC earning big wins over Stephan Bonnar (2x), Mauricio "Shogun" Rua  and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. He's suffered noted losses to Jackson Submission Fighter's Keith Jardine and Rashad Evans, Tito Ortiz and the aforementioned Silva.

 |  (1) Comments Internet Tufguy: I'm stoked to see Tito back in the octagon!! I loved the first fight. I hope Tito's not bullshitting(again) about his back being healthy. We may get to see Forrest cry, for a change.:D
