Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin received some bad news today as he was informed that he was no longer fighting Chael Sonnen at UFC 155.
Instead, the UFC choose to scratch the Griffin-Sonnen bout and pair Sonnen with UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones on an April 27 event.
In addition, Jones and Sonnen will be coaching the upcoming "The Ultimate Fighter" Season 17 set to feature middleweights and light-heavyweights.
Griffin, who last fought at Tito Ortiz at UFC 148, does not blame Sonnen for talking his way into title shots.
"Why fight your way to the top when you can talk your way to the the top?" Forrest Griffin told UFC Tonight. "I'm actually happy I'm not fighting him anymore because watching his fights was boring and tedious."
UFC officials have not confirmed if Griffin will remain on the UFC 155 card, or he will be reschedule for another upcoming event against a different opponent.
We'll keep you informed of the latest as soon as the information becomes available.
