Former Strikeforce lightweight champ Gilbert Melendez now has a opponent for April 11th as he will  fight Sengoku veteran Rodrigo Damm. Melendez's original April 11th opponent current Strikeforce lightweight champion Josh Thomson broke his leg last Wednesday while training for the much anticipated title rematch against Melendez.

Melendez will be fighting for the first time since he lost the lightweight title to Josh Thomson at last June’s Strikeforce: “Melendez vs. Thomson.”

Meanwhile, Damm is coming off a loss to Eiji Mitsuoka at last August's Sengoku: “Fourth Battle”. Damm sports a 8-2 overall MMA record and he holds notable wins over Jorge Masvidal and Kultar Gill.
