Popular female fighter Gina Carano is expected to return to action during the summer of 2010.

"It's pretty clear that we won't see her until the second quarter of next year, and probably late second quarter," Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker told MMA.Fanhouse.com. "Probably towards the summertime. That's when we're expecting her back."

While Carano does not have a return date scheduled as of yet, it is still reported that she will be in the mix for a shot at the title.

Right now, Carano is shooting the film, "Knockout," directed by Steven Soderbergh. She can also currently be seen on the cover of ESPN The Magazine's Body Issue.

Carano (7-1) recorded her only loss at her last fight, which was against Cristiane Santos earlier this year in August. In her seven wins, she has been victorious three times by decision (all unanimous), three time by TKO or KO, and once by submission.
