by Jacob Camargo on January 21, 2010

A lightweight bout between Gleison Tibau and Caol Uno is in the works for UFC Fight Night 21, which is being reported to take place on March 31 at the Bojangles' Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina. News of the bout was first reported by Tatame.com.

The Spike TV televised UFC Fight Night 21 event is the third UFC event in the month of March, and is rumored to be headlined by a very interesting lightweight match up between Kenny Florian and Takanori Gomi. The event will also serve as the lead-in on Spike TV for the debut episode of The Ultimate Fighter 11.

Tibau (20-6) is 3-1 in his last four bouts, most recently defeating Josh Neer at UFC 104 in October. His lone loss over that four-fight stretch came in his previous bout against Melvin Guillard at TUF 9 finale this past June. Tibau has put together a 6-4 record in 10 fights with the UFC, scoring other notable Octagon wins over Jason Dent, Terry Etim, Rich Clementi and Jeremy Stephens.

The American Top Team product has competed professionally for 10-years, while fighting for other notable promotions such as Bitetti Combat, Storm Samurai and DEEP. He holds other notable career wins over the likes of Fabricio Camoes and Thiago Alves.

Uno (25-12-2) has only won once in his last five bouts and most recently fought to a draw against Fabricio Camoes at UFC 106 in November. Prior to the draw, he suffered a unanimous decision loss to Spencer Fisher in his Octagon return in June at UFC 99. Uno sports a 3-4-2 UFC record, scoring notable Octagon wins over Yves Edwards and Din Thomas; while suffering other UFC losses to BJ Penn, Jens Pulver and Hermes Franca.

Uno has competed good portions of his 13-year career with K-1 Hero's and Shooto; he is also a veteran of DREAM. He holds other notable career wins over Rumina Sato (x2), Dennis Hallman, Hideo Tokoro, Rich Clementi and Mitsuhiro Ishida.
