Heavyweight prospect Mike Russow signs with the UFC

Former Pride heavyweight Mike Russow has signed on with the UFC and will be looking to make his promotional debut at UFC fight night 19 in September in Oklahoma City, according to The Times of Northwest Indiana.

Mike Russow is currently on a seven-fight win streak, with his most recent win coming over Braden Bice at Adrenaline MMA 2 this past December. Russow sports an impressive 11-1 MMA record, with eights of his wins coming via submission. He suffered his lone career loss to Sergei Kharitonov at Pride 33 in February 2007 and holds notable wins over Jason Guida and Roman Zentsov.

Besides being a MMA fighter, Russow is a Chicago Police Officer in the Englewood community in Chicago's 7th district. Russow is also a former state wrestling champion and attended Lincoln College which is the same school that former UFC welterweight champion Matt Hughes came from.
