Houston Alexander cited for child abuse
by Hubert Lau on January 02, 2012

UFC veteran, Houston Alexander, is cited for child abuse after having a boxing match with his 16-year-old son according to kmtv.com.

According to the police report, Alexander's teenage son was "having explicit sexual contact on Facebook with some unknown females." When the teen was confronted by Alexander concerning the matter, he allegedly lied. In turn, this angered Alexander who sought to discipline his child by having a boxing match with him in the basement of their home.

"If you are going to lie to me, then we are going to box," Alexander said.

Alexander's son reportedly suffers from slightly bloodied nose and pain on the right side of his face. Alexander has been cited for misdemeanor child abuse.

Alexander was a UFC fighter until late 2009 where he was cut after losing to Kimbo Slice at The Ultimate Fighter 10 finale. He went 2-4 with the UFC after six bouts. More recently, Alexander began competing in the regional circuit, compiling a record of 4-2 and one no contest. He was KO'ed by Steve Bossé at an Instinct MMA event in October in his last bout.

 |  (26) Comments illegalpoke: Boxing is a sport. If you gotta box to work out your problems... No one should be forced to get in the ring. Jesus Houston why not a belt? (lol can't even do that) The Hitman: What an idiot. I mean come on, man. A forced boxing match with your son as punishment? That's wrong. GO HARD: I dont see nothing wrong with this really.... It isnt like his son doesnt box. This is like Helio grabbing Royce after Royce lied and making him roll with him. Houston seems to be a really loving and caring father... im sure Houston wasnt going too hard on him... so yeah. Masternate: i think its good parenting. society these days...smh seedheadondatrak: I see no problem with this. Thought his son a lesson, but in return his son tells on him? Kids these days need to "MAN UP". I wish I had a father there to "box me up" when i needed it. Giada Esposito: It's hard to know without more details I think. I could go either way on this one, depending on what really happened. GO HARD: was it the son who called the cops?? I could be wrong but from what i think i know is that Houston has custody of like all 8 of his kids.... he made headlines of saving the abbondoned(ms) car that one time.... so you never know but im leaning toward a fathers lesson to the son, letting him know whos boss. and a son that trains i believe. SicJits: At least Houston finally picked up that elusive W:D horizontalcracker: It's because he's a professional fighter, largely. Stick to the normal spanking stuff that's already preapproved basically. If you're going to choose to do it physically, otherwise raise your child better. shawnb: but real talk? as long as he didn't get excessively rough applause to Houston. i'd do the same thing never hit my boy, but it's been laid out on the table that i'm not against it my mom taught me something. physical punishment is fine (and i think respected)....just NEVER in an angry frame of mind arlovskiviako: lmao 0311USMC: If he was only charged with a misdemeanor then it's basically a case of "don't do this again" once it goes to court. They will see the extent of the "injuries" and that/if the son trains and know that he wasn't abusing. You don't see too many teenagers out there that could take a shot from a guy his size and not get destroyed so it will be evident that he wasn't blasting him and that in turn will show that he was not trying to truly harm the son, rather teach him a lesson.
