Injury forces Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira out of UFC 133 match up with Rich Franklin
by Jason Benfari on July 17, 2011

The light-heavyweight injury carousel continued to spin last night it was revealed that Antonio Rogerio Nogueira has suffered a shoulder injury which will force him out of his co-main event match up against Rich Franklin at UFC 133 on Aug. 6.

The injury is the third major blow to a card that was originally put together to be a light-heavyweight title event featuring champion Jon Jones vs. Rashad Evans. Jones was forced off of the card however, due to injuries, and his replacement Phil Davis was himself forced from the card recently and replaced by former champion Tito Ortiz.

There has been no word on a replacement for the MMA legend, but Lyoto Machida's name has come up again as a possibility.

I don't really like a Franklin vs. Machida rematch myself, but I could see that happening. I think Franklin vs. Bonnar would be a fun fight. That would be my pick, if Bonnar is available on short notice. flyangler: I'm sick of this crap. Giada Esposito: It's kind of funny that Tito is one of the few healthy fighters at 205 now...
