"Dana White makes things difficult. Dana White is not somebody you should be scared of. He's an ex-aerobic kickboxing teacher. He is not an MMA fighter. He's never been an MMA fighter. He used to be a pretty nice-mannered agent, and then all of a sudden, he got this power via the Fertitta brothers and he is this "demi-God" for the MMA world. Everybody is all scared of him. 'Oh, my god, Dana White!' Fuck that little bald fucker man. Piece of shit... he is. He's a scumbag, that's what he is." - Ivan Salaverry
Retired UFC fighter Ivan Salaverry recently had some very unsavory remarks to say about his former boss.
While some fighters have criticized White in the past for the UFC pay scale or how he treats fighters, Salaverry's attack, which he told to FightingPolitics.com, seemed to be unprompted.
White's celebrity status has grown tremendously since taking over the business with Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta back in 2001. The trio bought the UFC for $2 million, and have turned it into a company that's worth north of $2 billion. All of their changes to the sport brought about a different attitude about MMA and the UFC.
Before becoming the UFC president, White managed fighters Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz. Even earlier, he dragged 80 pounds of equipment around Boston to train his fitness clients.
Is that an unearthed feud between Salaverry (who retired in 2008) and White?
