"I don't know why people are saying that because the injury was the knee and I hit him in the head. it doesn't matter if his knee was good or not. If I punch him in the head again, he's gonna go down again. I really believe that. I don't know why people are saying that. I was hurt too with a knee injury too. I just enjoyed the better moment, and at that time I was just better than him. That's it. I won the fight." - Junior dos Santos via MMAFighting
UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos is getting tired of people down-playing his first victory over Cain Velasquez at UFC on FOX due to Velasquez's injuries.
Dethrone, Valasquez's former sponsor, recently released a YouTube video without Velasquez's permission that shows the former champion tearing his ACL before his bout against dos Santos.
Dos Santos also reportedly entered the cage with a knee injury and was reportedly on crutches just a days before the fight.
Heading into the bout, dos Santos looks visibly bigger and more muscular than any of his previous UFC fights. The champion admits that in preparation for his bout against Velasquez, he bulked up a bit, and should be 4 pounds heavier than his usual weight of 239 lbs.
