Jake Ellenberger looks to knockout Diego Sanchez in the first or second round
by Hubert Lau on December 24, 2011

Jake Ellenberger foresees a first or second round TKO of his UFC on Fuel TV 1 opponent, Diego Sanchez, according to mmamania.com.

"Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. That's what I've always done. If it goes three, if it goes five rounds, if it goes 10 rounds, I mean, I'll be ready for sure," Ellenberger said.

Ellenberger has been on a tear as he strung five consecutive wins together. His most recent victory was over former Strikeforce middleweight champion and one time UFC welterweight title challenger, Jake Shields. When they met at UFC Fight Night: Shields vs. Ellenberger, 53 seconds was all that was needed for "The Juggernaut" to seal a win, the TKO victory was started off by a devastating knee that crumpled Shields.

"I always look to finish fights as fast as I can, just being prepared as I can. But I can see a TKO in the first or second round," Ellenberger said.

Ellenberger is already at the door step of becoming one of the UFC's elite and a win over longtime UFC standout Sanchez should be enough to solidify Ellenberger as a contender in the crowded welterweight division.

Sanchez is coming off of a hand injury that delayed their original meeting targeted for UFC 141; he has won his last two fights.

UFC on Fuel TV 1 is scheduled on February 15, 2012 at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska with Ellenberger vs. Sanchez fighting on the main event.

Giada Esposito: Thou shalt not knock him out unless it be in the first or second round... the third is right out! :D flyangler: I wouldn't mind seeing Jake split his head open like a melon either. Yes yes yes yes yes The Hitman: Seems like people are forgetting how good Diego is here. He has more than just a chin, and like Thug said he isnt just going to walk out and one punch KO Diego. GO HARD: His twin brother Joe doesnt have a horrible record at 55. 12-1.
