The UFC has recently signed IFL and M-1 veteran Jake Ellenberger to a four-fight deal and he has agreed to replace the injured Chris Lytle against Carlos Condit in his octagon debut on the UFC Fight Night 19 fight card.
News of Ellenberger's signing and insertion into the UFN 19 event was first reported by MMAjunkie.com and has since been confirmed by FiveKnuckles.com with a source close to the situation.
Chris Lytle was forced to withdraw from the event due to a severe knee injury.
Ellenberger is currently riding a four-fight win streak, with his most recent win coming over Marcelo Alfaya at Bellator 9 in June. He is a four year veteran of the sport, fighting for promotions like SportFight, Bodog Fight, IFL, and King of the Cage. He has compiled a 21-4 MMA record, with 18 wins coming via stoppages and has garnered notable wins over the likes of Pat Healy and Jose Landi-Jons.
Condit hasn't fought since dropping his octagon debut to Martin Kampmann at UFN 18 in April. Prior to the loss, he'd put together an undefeated 5-0 record while fighting for the WEC earning wins over Brock Larson and John Alessio. All 22 of Condit's career wins have come by way of stoppage and he hold other notable wins over the likes of Renato Verissimo and Frank Trigg.
UFN 19 takes place on Sept. 16 from the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City and the main card will be televised live on Spike TV. The event will be headlined by a lightweight bout between TUF 5 winner Nate Diaz and fellow TUF alum Melvin Guillard.
