Welterweights Jake Ellenberger and Mike Pyle have verbally agreed to face each on the quickly evolving UFC 108 fight card in January. News of the bout was first reported by MMAjunkie.com.
UFC 108 takes place on Jan. 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV and the event will air live on PPV. The event is rumored to be headlined by a UFC middleweight title bout between Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort.
Ellenberger (21-5) suffered a close, split-decision loss in his UFC debut against Carlos Condit at last month's UFN 19 in a bout that many felt Ellenberger won. Prior to the loss, he won four straight to make his way to the UFC, which included wins over Brendan Seguin and Marcelo Alfaya.

Pyle (19-6-1) 5-1 in his last six bouts, with all his wins coming by submission during the stretch and he most recently earned his first UFC win in his last bout by defeating Chris Wilson at UFC Fight Night 19 on Sept. 16. His only loss during that span came against Brock Larson when he filled in as a last minute replacement in his UFC debut in May at UFC 98.
The Xtreme Couture product is a submission specialist with 16 of his 19 career wins coming via submission. He has fought for numerous promotions during his 10 year career such as WEC, Affliction, Strikeforce, M-1, EliteXC, IFL and Sengoku.
