Jason "Mayhem" Miller signs with the UFC
by Tim Groves on April 22, 2011

Jason "Mayhem" Miller (24-7) has signed with the UFC since his Strikeforce deal has expired, according to MMAFighting.com.

There is no word on his first opponent yet.

Jason Miller has made a name for himself with his crazy antics and incessant trash talk. His entrance into the cage following Jake Shield's victory over Dan Henderson caused a full blown riot between himself and the Cesar Gracie camp.

Inside the cage, Miller has a lot to bring to the UFC. He has tremendous wrestling and grappling. Miller had a rear naked choke sunk in against Jake Shields but the round ended before Shields was forced to tap. His only losses since 2006 have come via decision to both Shields and Ronaldo Souza.

This will be Miller's second stint with the UFC, after an 0-1 performance fighting at welterweight back in 2005. He was defeated by Georges St-Pierre.

 |  (35) Comments Storm: i like it! Wandering_Minstrel: Very nice! The question is will he be at MW or will he go back to WW? fredshaulage: Love this guy! I hope he drops down to 70. Waiting for Nick at WW could be entertaining as hell. EverlastingSpringtime: Great news he deserves another shot in the UFC, hopefully Diaz will have to fight him if he comes over too. TGroves: Have y'all forgotten that he has said there is no way he makes 170? That's why the Diaz fight never happened. He said he couldn't make 170 and Diaz didn't want to go up in weight. snuff: I would like to see Miller vs. Fitch. I think Mayhem can even make a Fitch fight at least entertaining if not exciting. mike5k: I love Mayhem and see him as a huge asset to the organization at either weight so if he prefers '85 I'm cool with it. Someone else said it- he won't be champ at either weight but he just might get to a title shot. No matter what though, it's going to be fun to watch. I think Mayhem is really good for the sport. IwishIwasMMA: I can see him doing somewhat good at 185. He has okay wrestling, solid BJJ and his striking is definitely still improving. I think it is good he is avoiding 170 though. Waaaaay too many good guys there IMO that match up badly for him. Alves? No thank you. Fitch? Similar to his first fight with GSP. Shields? In a 3 round fight, Shields has this almost 100% of the time. Other people definitely have a chance of beating Andy. You need a fighter with an identical skillset to Travis Lutter, but with discipline, a proper weight cut, cardio, and a real training camp. mike5k: Bully Beatdown is pretty popular and I've spoken to MANY people that love it but didn't know Mayhem was a fighter. This is good for him and for the UFC. Jambi: Well, looks like he's coming back against Aaron Simpson. Interesting fight, and not a gimme by any means. GO HARD: Miller vs Silva please. i cant stand this lame. Marker28: I think Jason's self marketing will easily make him one of the most popular mw's in history. flyangler: Man, 8 days on the lam and I feel like I missed a years worth of news......This is very exciting for me because I love Mayhem. I thought this was going to happen even before the merger. Just don't give him "Stump" for his first fight.
