Former UFC champ, Jens Pulver, is slated to debut at Cage Warriors 47 after signing with the promotion according to mmajunkie.com.
"I look forward to the fights and the appearances in the international venues. I plan to show the rest of the world why I was world champion and why I will be again," Pulver said.
Pulver sports a 3-2 record over his last five fights, regaining momentum after a 1-8 skid from late 2006 to 2010. His last fight was against Timothy Elliot at a regional event, losing via KO. Pulver also holds a recent win over WEC veteran, Coty Wheeler, defeating him by the way of TKO at MMA Fight Pit: Genesis in late 2011.
Pulver is best remembered as the UFC's first ever lightweight champion and being just one of two men, Frankie Edgar being the other, to have ever defeated BJ Penn in the lightweight division. Pulver a veteran of the UFC and Pride also spent time in the WEC, having memorable bouts with Urijah Faber at WEC 34 and WEC 38.
Cage Warriors, based out of England, has yet to announce Pulver's opponent for the June 2nd event.
