Fighting and Entertainment Group (FEG) has officially announced the long rumored rubber match between grappling wizard Shinya Aoki and DREAM 2008 lightweight grand prix winner Joachim Hansen for DREAM 11. The fight will determine the promotion's lightweight championship.

Aoki (21-4) is coming off a win over Vitor Ribeiro at DREAM 10 last month and is now 4-1 in his last five bouts. His only loss during the streak came to Hayato Sakurai at DREAM 8 in April. The DEEP, Shooto and Pride veteran has finished 12 of his 21 career wins by submission and has earned other notable wins career wins over Gesias Cavalcante and Caol Uno.
Hansen (19-7-1) hasn't fought since defeating Aoki to capture the DREAM lightweight title last July. He was expected to meet Gesias "JZ" Calvancante at "FieLDS Dynamite!! 2008" on New Years Eve, but failed the pre-fight medicals and was forced to out of the event with last minute medical issues. Hansen was also officially announced to be defending his belt at DREAM 10 against Aoki, but was abruptly pulled from the card.
Hansen has also put together a 4-1 record in his last five bouts, his loss coming against Eddie Alvarez at DREAM 3. The 10-year veteran has fought mostly in Japan for Shooto and PRIDE. He holds notable wins over such fighters as Luiz Azeredo, Yves Edwards, Caol Uno, Gesias Cavalcante, Rumina Sato and Takanori Gomi.
DREAM 11 is set for October 6 at the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan and will air live in the U.S. on HDNET. The event will also feature the conclusion of DREAM's featherweight tournament as well as the semi-finals of the promotion's open-weight "Super Hulk" tournament.
