Joe Lauzon and Terry Etim both verbally agreed to fight each other at UFC on Fox 4 according to fightersonlymagazine.co.uk.
Lauzon (21-7) has been on a hot and cold streak as of late. Lauzon last fought against Anthony Pettis at UFC 144, the victor moving one step closer towards becoming a lightweight contender. Pettis performed on par to his moniker "Showtime" as he knocked out Lauzon with a head kick at the 1:21 mark of the first round.
The loss snapped a two fight win streak, wins over Melvin Guillard and Curt Warburton, and now Lauzon will look to rebound against Etim.
Etim (15-4) has had a similar run to Lauzon recently, 2-2 over four fights. Etim suffered a rib injury following his fight with Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 112 but returned to action at UFC 138 against Eddie Faaloloto. Etim would go on to defeat Faaloloto via guillotine choke in the first round.
Etim last fought Edson Barboza at UFC 142. Etim and Barboza kept the fight at a steady pace throughout but in the final round Etim was knocked out by a spinning wheel kick from Barboza.
Lauzon vs. Etim is set for UFC on Fox 4 and will mark a significant fight for both men who will try to avoid a two fight losing streak. UFC on Fox 4 is set for August 4 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
