Jon Fitch is puzzled at his lack of title shots but looks towards a rematch with George St. Pierre and a future fight with Anderson Silva according to mmamania.com.
Fitch (23-3-1 (1 no contest)) sports a UFC record of 14-1-1 within the welterweight division and has established himself as one of MMA's best in the process. Fitch has been given only one title shot, at UFC 87, despite his near perfect record.
"No one's ever come to speak to me about doing anything wrong or right or whatever, so I'm completely clueless. I have no idea what's expected of me to get the title shots. No one's ever come to me and said they don't like what I'm doing or I need to do more of something else. I'm utterly and completely clueless in that regard," Fitch said.
Fitch is currently on a 5-0-1 run, last fighting BJ Penn to a draw at UFC 127. For his next bout, Fitch is scheduled to fight Johny Hendricks at UFC 141. If he can get pass Hendricks, he will still need to wait for a title shot. Carlos Condit is fighting Josh Koscheck at UFC 143 for the UFC's number one welterweight contender.
There is no telling when Fitch finally gets his second crack at the UFC's welterweight title but Fitch has other goals as well.
"I'm living for the fights. That's what I love. I don't think there's anybody out there who I can't beat. If I'm in shape and healthy and my timing is on, there's nobody in the world I can't beat. My goals are: one, to win the welterweight belt; two, avenge my loss to GSP; and three, I would like to move up some day and challenge Anderson (Silva) if he's still around and undefeated, just because that's the kind of person I am. I want to challenge the best. I want to go up against the best. I want to prove to everybody that I'm the best," Fitch said.
