Jon Fitch was expected to fight Ricardo Almeida at UFC 106 on Nov. 21, but due to a knee injury, Almeida was forced to withdraw from the event.
News of the injury and subsequent pull out came from Fitch via Facebook late last night, which was also posted on his Twitter account:
"My fight on Nov. 21st is off, Almeida blew our his knee, but I get a bigger better fight instead. Cant say who yet, but lots of you have been waiting for this fight a long time."
Speculations of a new opponent for Fitch have already been rampant online. Rumored match ups have been against Josh Koscheck, Georges St. Pierre, Matt Hughes, Thiago Alves, Jake Shields or Matt Serra.
However, St. Pierre and Serra have prior UFC fight engagements in early 2010, so will most likely not be Fitch's next opponent.
