Jonathan Goulet returning for UFC's Montreal event
by Natalia Baage on December 20, 2009

Jonathan Goulet is getting ready to make his return to the UFC, and it will be on home turf, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on May 1, 2010, reported MMAWeekly.com.

According to MMAWeekly, a source close to Goulet confirmed that he would be fighting on the card, but opponent has yet to be named.

Goulet has not fought in over a year. His last fight was on Dec. 10, 2008, when he suffered a first-round loss to Mike Swick at UFC: Fight for the Troops. With his return still five months away, at the time of his upcoming fight, Goulet will have officially been away from fighting for 17 months.

The Canadian was slated to fight at the historic UFC 100 event, but had to pull out of the fight due to a dislocated shoulder.

While the UFC's trip to Montreal is not yet official, it is slated to be UFC 113. Another rumored bout for the event includes a rematch and title shot between current champion Lyoto Machida and challenger Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. Patrick Cote, another Canadian fighter, is also looking to make a comeback on the Quebec card, possibly against Michael Bisping.

Goulet (22-10, 1 NC) holds an eve 4-4 record inside the Octagon. His UFC wins have come over Jay Hieron, Luke Cummo, Paul Georgieff and Kuniyoshi Hironaka. His loses have come at the hands of Swick, Dustin Hazelett, Josh Koscheck and Duane Ludwig.
