by Jacob Camargo on October 07, 2009

A lightweight bout between American Top Team's Jorge Masvidal and former Sengoku lightweight champion Satoru Kitaoka is set to take place on the Sengoku 11 fight card in November.

Sengoku 11 takes place on Nov. 7 at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan, and will air in North America on HDNet.

News of the bout was first reported by Tapology.com, who also caught up with a very confident Masvidal.

"He is dangerous with the leg locks, you know, and that's really it," said Masvidal. "I don't think he's a threat anywhere else. I'm going to come at him at 100 mph like I do with everybody and try to break his will."

Masvidal (18-4) recently went 2-1 during his stint with Bellator Fighting Championships, advancing to the promotion's lightweight tournament semi-finals, where he lost to Toby Imada. He is coming off a win over Eric Reynolds in a non-tournament bout at Bellator 10.

The six year veteran of the sport, Masvidal, has also fought for other promotions during his career such as Strikeforce, Sengoku, Bodog Fight and Absolute Fighting Championships. He holds notable career wins over the likes of Yves EdwardsRoli Delgado, Ryan Schultz and Joe Lauzon.

Kitaoka (25-9-9) failed to defend his Sengoku lightweight belt in his last bout as he was dethroned by Mizuto Hirota at Sengoku 9 in August. Prior to the loss, he won six straight, including wins in his first five bouts with Sengoku over the likes of Clay French, Eiji Mitsuoka, and Takanori Gomi.

Kitaoka is a nine year veteran, fighting the majority of his career with Japan's Pancrese organization. He holds other notable wins in his career over Carlos Condit, Kurt Pellegrino, Thomas Schulte and Paul Daley.
