Jose Canseco is down but not out. After dropping his MMA debut to 7'2" Korean-born Hong Man Choi, Canseco will set his sights on Bill "El Wingador" Simmons. Who?
Simmons, the five-time Wingbowl chicken wing eating champion from Philadelphia, is best known for bringing the Wingbowl championship back to Philadelphia in 2005 after 99-pound Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas snatched the title the year before, becoming the first female winner of the famed eating contest. "El Wingador" bested Thomas by a single wing, putting down 162 hot wings in the process.
The 6'5" 335-pound Simmons, who has no professional fighting experience, told FiveKnuckles.com that he will be facing Canseco on July 24 in Philly. "El Wingador" also informed us that he's in line for a possible scrap with Hong Man Choi if he can get past Canseco in their upcoming celebrity boxing match. Here's to hoping there's a strong correlation between hot wing eating ability and fighting.
