Josh Grispi (14-2) and George Roop (11-7-1) will square off at The Ultimate Fighter Season 13 Finale, according to MMAMania.com. The two previous featherweight contenders hope to erase the memories of their last fights, as both fell in title eliminators.
Grispi was scheduled to fight Jose Aldo for the title at UFC 125 on January 1st until Aldo was forced to pull out due to an injury. Grispi elected to stay on the card and met then relatively unknown Dustin Poirier. Poirier dominated Grispi for all three rounds and took an unanimous decision victory, costing Grispi a shot at the belt.
Prior to that "The Fluke" had compiled a 4-0 record inside the WEC and was looking as a future star at 145 pounds. The 22-year old still has plenty of time to retain his role as a title contender.
Roop however, may not be that lucky. A former contestant on The Ultimate Fighter, Roop dropped down from the lightweight division all the way to bantamweight. The cut was too much for the 6'1'' fighter as he returned to 145.
After his continued weight fluctuations, Roop scored a highlight reel headkick knockout over Chan Sung Jung this past September. It suddenly seemed as if Roop was finally putting everything together. He followed up that victory with a TKO loss to Mark Hominick in a mere 1:28.
With his current UFC/WEC record standing at 3-4-1, another loss would almost certainly find himself gone from the promotion.
