Josh Koscheck: "I'm not afraid to go in there and stand toe-to-toe with him. I'm that cocky."

Josh Koscheck says Paul Daley's a one-note punk, for lack of a better word. Paul Daley says Josh Koscheck looks like a Fraggle Rock character. Those are the nicer things that have been said. If you think their trash talk is intense, just wait until they get in the Octagon.

"I'm not afraid to go in there and stand toe-to-toe with him," Koscheck told the UFC. "I just may do that. I just may prove a point. I'm that egotistical, you know. I'm that cocky."

Koscheck has a reason to be cocky. The UFC reported that the blond-haired AKA product has had the most UFC wins without getting a title shot. Yes, Koscheck fought George St. Pierre in the past (at UFC 74), but St. Pierre was not the titleholder at that time - it was the one fight since the end of 2006 that St. Pierre did not hold the belt. Koscheck has beaten Anthony Johnson, Frank Trigg, Yoshiyuki Yoshida, Chris Lytle, Dustin Hazelett, Diego Sanchez and Jonathan Goulet. The Ultimate Fighter 1 alum wants to fight the best mixed martial artists, and he sees Daley as a stepping stone that, while he will not overlook, he will beat with his superior skills and ferocity.

"All [Daley] has is a left hook," Koscheck said. "What else does he have? He hasn't knocked anybody out with anything else. He's not a complete fighter. I just gotta do what I gotta do. [He] has got a lot of hype behind him. Been knocking people out, but the problem is: he hasn't fought anybody like me yet. Talk is talk. At the end of the day, this kid has to step in there and fight. In the beginning, I was just a wrestler. Now, I'm a mixed martial artist. The next step for me is to get that title shot."

In regards to improvement, fans have seen Koscheck as a more complete fighter in recent years. When he first stepped onto the scene, he was a wrestler - and an NCAA Division I wrestler at that. While he was not a poor striker, his stand up was decent at best. In the past year or so, he has been quoted as saying that he has been working 90% on stand up. Ultimately, it has paid off, as four of his last seven fights have ended via (TKO).

However, Daley does have the distinct advantage in knockout power. Wile Koscheck criticizes Daley's lack of a complete stand up game, if Daley gets a clean shot, it might be the end of the night for the American. Daley's power has been tested against Hazelett and Martin Kampmann, both of whom have suffered defeat via (T)KO.

Daley, too, has had his share of wins throughout his seven-year career. While Koscheck wonders who of importance the Brit has fought, Daley has racked up wins against Hazelett, Kampmann, John Alessio, Duane Ludwig and Jess Liaudin. Next up, he hopes to put Koscheck's name on his list of casualties.

"Apparently he doesn't like me," Koscheck continued. "If you don't like me, I don't like you and let's do it. Let's get this on. This guy has gotten me so pissed off that you're going to see the best, most aggressive Josh Koscheck that you've ever seen. He better be in shape. He better be trained and he better be ready for a war. I'm going to knock him out. I'm going to kick him in the...
