A welterweight bout between Frank Trigg and Josh Koscheck will likely appear on an unannounced UFC event in September.
Earlier today, MMAmania.com reported that Matt Hughes or Frank Trigg would be Josh Koscheck's UFC 103 opponent, however, sources close to MMAWEEKLY.com confirmed that verbal agreements have been reach between Trigg and Koscheck.
Josh Koscheck is very anxious to return to action after being forced to withdraw from his UFC 98 bout with Chris Wilson due to a foot injury. Koscheck is coming off an upset loss to Paulo Thiago via TKO at UFC 95 in February. All but two of Koscheck's 16 career fights have come under the UFC at an impressive 10-4 overall record with the promotion. Koscheck holds wins over Diego Sanchez, Dustin Hazelett, Dave Menne, Chris Lytle and Yoshiyuki Yoshida.
Frank Trigg signed a 4-fight deal with the UFC earlier this month and will return to the UFC following his departure in 2005. A Pride, Sengoku and Strikeforce veteran, Trigg, will fight as a welterweight this time around after holding several fights in the middleweight division. During his time outside the UFC, Trigg went 7-2 with wins over Jason Miller, Kazuo Misaki, Falaniko Vitale and most recently Danny Babcock at XCF: "Rumble in Racetown 1" in February.
UFC 103 is tentatively set to take place on September 26th with possible locations in the United Kingdom or Las Vegas, Nevada areas.
