“For the first time in my mixed martial arts career I hired a strength coach so I’ve been working a lot with him and got back to wrestling, just getting back to the daily grind of training. It’s been going great and I’m in great shape right now and I can’t wait to fight in September. I think I have five fights left on my contract and I just have to worry about one at a time. Frank Trigg is the next guy and I can’t look past [him] because he’s an old veteran, had a lot of tough opponents and a lot of fights so I have to focus on him first.”
UFC welterweight Josh Koscheck spoke to MMANews.com this past weekend at the Strikeforce: "Carano vs. Cyborg" event about his preparations for his upcoming fight at UFC 103 on September 19. He will face former UFC welterweight title contender Frank Trigg at the event.
Koscheck is 1-2 in his last three bouts and he hasn't fought since losing to Paulo Thiago at UFC 95 in February. "Kos" was originally slated to fight Chris Wilson at UFC 98 in May, however, a toe injury forced him off the event. In previous bouts, Koscheck scored a devastating knockout win over Yoshiyuki Yoshida and he was defeated by Thiago Alves at UFC 90.
Since his UFC debut in April 2005, the TUF 1 cast-member has put together a 10-4 record with the promotion, with other notable wins over Dave Menne, Chris Lytle, Dustin Hazelett and Diego Sanchez.
