Rising welterweights, Josh Neer and Keith Wisniewski, are planned to battle at UFC on Versus 6 according to bloodyelbow.com.
Both men would be making their UFC returns, Neer had a 5-6 run in his previous UFC outing and Wisniewski would look to notch his first UFC win after a unanimous decision defeat to Nick Thompson at UFC 56.
Neer (31-10-1) has been 6-1 since being cut from the UFC in late 2009. His last fight saw "The Dentist" defeat Blas Avena via TKO at the Superior Cage Combat promotions. His only blemish in the last two years was a rear naked choke defeat to Bellator's lightweight champion, Eddie Alvarez, at Bellator 17.
Wisniewski (28-12-1) is currently riding a six fight win streak, all wins coming from local MMA promotions. Among his recent wins, Wisniewski defeated UFC veterans in Chris Wilson and Pete Spratt.
UFC on Versus 6 is scheduled for October 1 and is being held at Verizon Center in Washington D.C. The event is headlined by a bantamweight title bout, Dominick Cruz defending against Demetrious Johnson.
Complementing them on the main card is a heavyweight bout between Pat Barry and Stefan Struve. Surging welterweight, Charlie Brenneman, looks to defeat Anthony Johnson. Lightweights, Matt Wiman to rematch Mac Danzig.
