KJ Noons on Nick Diaz: "He's a great fighter. As a person, he's a dumb (expletive)"
by Giada Esposito on June 23, 2010

Coming off his win over Conor Heun at Strikeforce: Los Angeles, KJ Noons is making it clear he wants a rematch with Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz.

He's also making his other feelings about Diaz very clear as well.

Noons (9-2) was the last man to beat Diaz (22-7 1 NC), when he defeated him in 2007 to claim the lightweight belt of the now defunct Elite XC promotion. Noons won that fight after a doctor stoppage for a huge cut to Diaz's forehead caused by a knee strike in the first round. Since then, Noons has gone 3-0 while Diaz has put together an impressive 7-0 run, finishing all seven of his opponents in the process.

"That's definitely in the mix," Noons told the Sherdog Radio Network's "Beatdown" show when asked about a rematch with Diaz. "That's something I want to do, he wants to do it and Strikeforce wants to do it. It's just a matter of making it happen. Me getting back out there, getting my name out there and coming together with Strikeforce and Showtime. That's something that every party is interested in doing."

Noons has a lot of respect for Diaz's accomplishments as a fighter, but to say he's not so impressed with his personality would be an understatement.

"The whole Nick Diaz thing, he's a great fighter," Noons stated. "You look at everything since he first fought (and) I never took away that he's a good fighter. I just said he's an idiot. I don't like his personality. He's a good fighter. As a person, he's a dumb motherf-----."

Diaz is currently facing a three-month suspension for his involvement in a ringside brawl at Strikeforce: Nashville on April 17. To Noons, the whole affair is typical of Diaz's character.

"Am I surprised that it happened again?" Noons asked. "Are you? I'm not surprised. I'm taking nothing away from him. He beat Sakurai, who used to be one of my training partners for a long time. That guy is really good. As a person I just don't like him. Am I surprised? No. Actually I feel sorry for the guy. Too bad he's not better on the outside. He'd actually be a better star and people would like him better. I'm not talking s---; that's just the plain truth."

Sure, Diaz isn't the brightest of bulbs out there, but you don't need to be a rocket scientist to be a fighter. He also doesn't need people to "like him better", like KJ needs (the little fruit cup), cuz he's good at being the heel, and people like that about him, cuz he's real. KJ is a little punk ass, I hope they do fight again (not at LW though), cuz I wanna see him get trounced.
